TACTICAL CIVILIAN CASUALTY CARE COURSE

GRACIE ONE TCCC

The Gracie ONE Tactical Civilian Casualty Care (TCCC) training is borrowed from the military’s Tactical Combat Casualty Care protocols but is focused on an active shooter events versus military combat situations.

This course involves training students in medical techniques to treat casualties in an active shooter event, automobile accident, or other any type of traumatic environment. The course focuses on providing immediate and life-saving care to wounded individuals during and after a traumatic engagement.

Here are key components included in the Gracie ONE TCCC program:

  • Categorization of Casualties: Teaching responders to quickly assess and categorize casualties based on the severity of their injuries during a mass casualty incident (e.g., immediate, delayed, minimal).

  • Care Under Fire: Training in providing care in the midst of ongoing life-threatening situations. Emphasis on taking cover, returning fire if necessary, and providing basic medical interventions.

  • Tactical Field Care: Instruction on treating casualties once the immediate threat has diminished. Techniques for controlling bleeding, managing airways, and treating other life-threatening injuries.

  • Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC): Training on the proper procedures for evacuating casualties from the incident. Use of improvised litters and other methods for moving wounded individuals to safety.

  • Hemorrhage Control: Techniques for controlling severe bleeding, including the use of tourniquets and hemostatic dressings. Recognition and treatment of shock.

  • Airway Management: Training in maintaining and securing a casualty's airway. Use of airway adjuncts and techniques for addressing airway obstructions.

  • Breathing Interventions: Instruction on recognizing and treating breathing difficulties. Techniques for chest seal application.

  • Medical Equipment Usage: Familiarization with medical kits and equipment commonly used in TCCC. Hands-on practice with the proper application of medical tools.

  • Casualty Documentation: Training on the importance of documenting medical interventions.

Communication with higher medical authorities and handover procedures during evacuation.

  • Scenario-Based Training: Realistic scenarios to simulate combat conditions and test participants' ability to apply TCCC principles under stress.

The Gracie ONE Tactical Civilian Casualty Care course is designed to address the unique challenges of providing medical care in a potentially hostile and dynamic environment. It aims to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively to injuries sustained during active shooter and other traumatic events, ultimately improving the chances of survival for casualties.
